Final Thoughts on Having a Website

This is my second time having a blog/website for one of my classes but my experience this time around was different. I found using WordPress a lot better than Weebly. The interface was more intuitive and I liked the theme options better.

The writing experience was really fun actually, I got to give my opinions and share various things we watched, did or saw in class. My friends and family get an idea of what I do in this class and I get something I can always look back to. This website acts as a portfolio for all the things I have done, from our LiMPETS field trip to our fetal pig lab.

I think that writing reflective blog posts and having an organized website is a skill, and such skills I definitely improved on through having my own website.

Finally, I have overall enjoyed my experience in the class and my website helped document that.

Dear Future AP Bio Students

Updates on Me

Now that the year is finally coming to an end and I’m a junior I am starting to prepare for the many tasks I will have to balance as a senior. The beginning of Senior year will be a hectic time for me, balancing school, golf and college applications. So you can bet I will be writing my college essays over the summer, in fact, I’ve already started.

In terms of where I might be going, I have a few summer programs I will be attending. One is in Boston and the other is at Stanford. One is pharmacy related and the other is chemical engineering. The reason I am taking these is getting a better sense of what I want to study and pursue a career in.

Unfortunately, I’m not traveling anywhere for leisure but that’s okay because next year I can relax all I want.

  1. Hi Felicia!
Great blog! Your blog posts are super detailed and are very in-depth about the topic you write about. I love your creativity in your blog post and your use of pictures. Your website’s menu is a bit hard to navigate though. Other than that, everything looks great!

  2. Hi, Felicia:

I have enjoyed your posts throughout the year. They are quite informative. Thanks for raising the awareness of plastic waste, it’s accumulative impact on our environment. You used many original pictures from your trip and experiment, they are nice addition to your narratives. I would like see you dig deeper in the cause and impact on the phenomenon observed. Overall, these are good posts, have shown your passion for the subject

  3. This is a content rich web site about AP biology. I really like to see so many pictures and video embedded in those blog posts, and it clearly shows the great effort you put into this course and your learning progress throughout the year. The video of tips for future AP biology students is pretty nice and helpful for other students. There are a few grammar errors here and there, but you still express your view points clearly. Overall, very good job!
